{"id":1882,"date":"2026-04-24T13:57:36","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T13:57:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wickedsister.evit.com.au\/index.php\/2026\/04\/24\/msthinkagain\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T13:57:36","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T13:57:36","slug":"msthinkagain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wickedsister.evit.com.au\/index.php\/2026\/04\/24\/msthinkagain\/","title":{"rendered":"#MSThinkAgain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s the last day of MS Awareness Week with the campaign of #MSThinkAgain, which has been challenging all the assumptions that surround the condition, which just aren&#8217;t true. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/17.0.2\/72x72\/1f642.png\" alt=\"&#x1f642;\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em;max-height: 1em\" \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Every day this week, Dizzy and I have been considering the misconceptions we have encountered, and we have put together this little post to share them. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/17.0.2\/72x72\/1f642.png\" alt=\"&#x1f642;\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em;max-height: 1em\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ol>\n<li>You&#8217;re too young to be sick!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>When in fact the average age people are diagnosed with MS is between 20 and 40 years old. (We were 24, and our first symptoms started at 15.) Age is not a signifier of MS. x<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"size-large wp-image-12866 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dinosaursdonkeysandms.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Age-MS.png?resize=525%2C394&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>2. But you look fine!<\/p>\n<p>Apparently over 85% of people have had this said to them. But out of the 40-50 symptoms MS can cause, 80% of these are invisible!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-12868\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dinosaursdonkeysandms.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Invisible-symptoms.png?resize=525%2C394&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Everyone has the same journey with MS.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>MS is know as a snowflake disease. Just like with snowflakes, you will never find two people who are on the same journey with their MS.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-12865\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dinosaursdonkeysandms.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Snowflake-disease.png?resize=525%2C394&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\" \/><\/p>\n<p>4. MS only causes physical symptoms.<\/p>\n<p>MS can also cause cognitive symptoms, such as brain fog, trouble processing information, difficulty concentrating, and the really random one of saying a completely different word to the one you meant to say. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/17.0.2\/72x72\/1f642.png\" alt=\"&#x1f642;\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em;max-height: 1em\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-12867\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dinosaursdonkeysandms.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Brain-fog.png?resize=525%2C394&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\" \/> \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>5. MS is a death sentence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>MS definitely isn&#8217;t!
