{"id":270,"date":"2025-07-02T00:02:28","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T00:02:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wickedsister.evit.com.au\/index.php\/2025\/07\/02\/run-walk-or-roll-at-cmu-toward-a-world-free-of-ms\/"},"modified":"2025-07-02T00:02:28","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T00:02:28","slug":"run-walk-or-roll-at-cmu-toward-a-world-free-of-ms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wickedsister.evit.com.au\/index.php\/2025\/07\/02\/run-walk-or-roll-at-cmu-toward-a-world-free-of-ms\/","title":{"rendered":"Run, walk or roll at CMU toward a world free of MS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Dan and I always are excited to share stories about what the students from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmich.edu\/program\/doctor-of-physical-therapy-dpt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Central Michigan University\u2019s Physical Therapy program<\/a><\/strong> are doing to support people within the Multiple Sclerosis community.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/runsignup.com\/Race\/MI\/MountPleasant\/MultipleSclerosis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" width=\"670\" height=\"758\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/acoupletakesonms.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/CMU-PT-5K.jpg?resize=670%2C758&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11084\" style=\"width:415px;height:auto\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Click image to register<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"\">Let\u2019s say the next generation of healthcare professionals is showing up in a big way this summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">On <strong>Saturday, July 19, 2025<\/strong>, CMU\u2019s Physical Therapy Student Organization will host its <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/runsignup.com\/Race\/MI\/MountPleasant\/MultipleSclerosis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Conquer Multiple Sclerosis 5K Run\/Walk<\/a><\/strong> on campus in Mount Pleasant. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/runsignup.com\/Race\/MI\/MountPleasant\/MultipleSclerosis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Register today<\/a><\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Although it has been a few years since the students hosted such an event, they are revitalizing it with renewed energy and purpose.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Dan and I recently connected with Jordan Carney, one of the PT students organizing the event. Just a few words into our conversation with her, the students\u2019 passion for this cause was clear.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cWe wanted to focus our race on MS this year because it\u2019s a diagnosis we\u2019ll be treating as clinicians,\u201d Jordan said. \u201cIt\u2019s important to us that our community knows we see the need for skilled physical therapy and are committed to helping people with MS maintain the best quality of life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">All proceeds from the race go directly to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalmssociety.org\/resources\/get-connected\/in-your-area\/mig\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Michigan Chapter of the National MS Society<\/a><\/strong>, a partnership which Jordan says is vital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cIt connects us with resources we wouldn\u2019t get in the classroom.
