Next up ….Especially for the Requester..Re-inventing a mouse model of EAE…..here we take a mouse that is is essentially empty of mouse T and B cells so we can fill it full of human cells and here they make MOG-reactive CAR-T cells and it makes lesions abit like the Transgenic MOG T cell receptor T cells but apparently it is betterer and here they give Clemastine and there is less myelin loss so we will find out if it is a good model quite soon as the results of clemastine in MS are reported in less than two weeks. I think doing studies on human cells is a step forward for doing experimental studies. Using these you could do studies on drugs like cladribine that dont work in rodents like they work in humans you could look at EBV which dont infect mice but you can infect the human B cells in these types of mouse. It has been known for some time that there is a predeliction for the immune response to target MOG in the optic nerve…I wonder if they will use copaxone to see what that does.
